Advance poll numbers up in local ridings

All four local ridings saw a significant increase in the number of people who voted in an advance poll for the federal election.
In Souris-Moose Mountain, which includes Moosomin, Rocanville, Wapella, Whitewood, Kipling, Kennedy, Wawota, Maryfield, and Redvers areas, 11,679 people voted in the advance polls, up from 9,256 in 2019.
In Yorkton-Melville, which includes Esterhazy, Tantallon, Spy Hill, Langenburg, Stockholm, Yorkton and Melville areas, 11,109 people voted in advance polls, up from 8,401 in 2019.
In Brandon-Souris, which includes Elkhorn, Virden, Melita, Reston, and Brandon areas, 9.020 people voted in advance polls, up from 5,365 in 2019.
In Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa, which includes the McAuley, St. Lazare, Russell, and Binscarth areas, 8,616 people voted in advance polls, up from 6,264 in the last federal election.
Election day is Monday Sept. 20.
