Busy Chamber meeting set for Dec. 16

The next meeting of the Moosomin Chamber of Commerce is set for Tuesday, December 16 at the Moosomin Sportsplex. It will be a busy meeting with lots on the agenda.

Highways Minister at meeting
Provincial Highways Minister Dave Marit will be at the meeting to talk about the highways investments in the Moosomin area.
The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways invested more than $21.2 million in the Moosomin area this construction season, with five major projects taking place, including repaving Highway 8 between Moosomin and Rocanville, a truck pull out rest area east of Moosomin on the Trans-Canada Highway, micro surfacing on the Trans-Canada Highway between Moosomin and Wapella, microsurfacing on Highway 8 south of Moosomin, and seal coating on Highway 48 between Windthorst and Highway 9.

Smile Cookie presentation
After raising over $16,000 in the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, Moosomin Tim Hortons will be making a cheque presentation to the Moosomin Visual Arts Centre with the proceeds from the fundraiser.

Young Entrepreneur Bursary
A presentation will be made to Tia Cedarstrand from Third Avenue on Main. Third Avenue on Main in Moosomin is one of 57 businesses in Saskatchewan that has been chosen to receive $5,000 through the provincial government’s new Young Entrepreneur Bursary.

Daycare presentation
Playfair Daycare will be doing a presentation at the Chamber meeting to talk about the progress on the new daycare building under construction and some of their fundraising initiatives.


Parks & Rec presentation
The Moosomin Parks & Rec Department will be talking about their trip to Stratford, Ontario where the town found out how they did in the national Communities in Bloom competition. They will also be talking about the rec department’s plans for 2026.

SE College presentation
Southeast College will be at the meeting to talk about their plans to offer an English as an Additional Language program in Moosomin.
The meeting will be on Tuesday, December 16 at the Moosomin Sportsplex at 11:45 am.
