Lyle passed away on the morning of August 21, 2022, at St. Anthony’s Hospital.

Lyle was born September 19, 1934, in Stenen, Sask.

He was the second child and oldest son of Ray and Elda Hedley. Lyle grew up on the family farm at Sturgis, Sask.

As a young man he moved to Regina, Sask, where he met Emily Marshall. Lyle and Emily were married January 20, 1962.

Lyle worked with the CPR Signal Department and as a result, they moved several times over the next three years before settling in Spy Hill in August 1965, where they lived for the next 50+ years.

Lyle worked construction at IMC K2 and other places prior to him being hired at IMC (Kalium then Mosaic) in June 1973, and worked there until he retired in 1996.

Lyle was a member of the Lion’s Club, and was on the Rink Board, Fire Department; spent three years on Spy Hill Village Council and the Langenburg Hospital Board.

Lyle also coached hockey and baseball and umpired ball games.

Lyle was predeceased by his wife, Emily, of 59 years; his parents Ray and Elda; siblings—Wilma, Albert, Earl, Dale, and Audrey.

He is survived by his children—Irene, Marlene, Glen and Donna (Stuart) and his grandson Brice.

Lyle’s children would like to thank the staff at the Centennial Care Home in Esterhazy for the care they provided dad in the last 18 months, as well as the staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital for their care provided to dad prior to his passing.

A Graveside Funeral Service was held Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11 a.m. from Spy Hill Cemetery, Spy Hill, Saskatchewan, with Pastor Jean Istace presiding.
