Henry Griemann

Henry passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the South East Integrated Care Centre-Long Term Care, at the age of 87 years.
Henry was the loving husband of the late June; loving father to David (Lenora) and Eva (Gord); proud and loving papa to Madi (Tyler) and Cass (Kyle).
He was born on the farm in the Old Welwyn district on May 25, 1935.
He attended school at Old Welwyn before beginning his farming career. He continued farming until 1998 when they rented the land to neighbours. He also sold hail insurance for many years.
Henry will be remembered for his sense of humour and joking nature; he carried photocopies of jokes with him and frequently shared them.
He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He liked gardening, making pickles and trying out new recipes.
Henry had the special ability to make the best of what came his way. He loved a good meal, history books and auction sales. It is uncertain whether the prospect of a good bargain or the pie was the true appeal of auction sales.
He was predeceased by his parents Katharina and Michael, his wife June, his brother Pete and sister-in-law Irene, his sister Mary and brother-in-law Alf, his brother Herman and sister-in-law Muriel and his brother-in-law Bill.
He leaves to mourn his children, granddaughters, sister Susie Marsh, his brother Will (Judy), brother in-law Frank (Audrey), sister-in-law Bernice (Ed), brother-in-law Earl (Faye), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Henry’s life will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Welwyn cemetery.
