Agatha Turbak (Looy) passed away at Elkwood Manor in Elkhorn, Manitoba on April 23, 2023.

Agatha was born on October 10, 1932 in Veteran, Alberta, the second youngest of eight children.

After graduation from secretarial college, she worked in Edmonton, Alberta where she met Adam Turbak at a social function.

They were married on August 12, 1953 at the Turbak farm by Kirkella, Manitoba and began a mixed farm on their own land where they raised five children, Judy (Marcel Robin), Charles (deceased), Thelma, Constance (Harvey Schmitke), and Gladys.

Her life on the farm was very busy raising her children and caring for all the animals.

She raised her own chickens, calved cows and saved many a calf, always had a big garden and loved her time there.

Mom was involved in various community activities—bingo and curling were definitely her favorites.

She stayed on her farm until 2023 fulfilling her passion of caring for her many cats, dogs, cattle, birds, and deer.

She enjoyed the visits with her children and grandchildren. This very special mother and grandmother will be missed by all.

The family would like to thank the wonderful care provided by all the staff at the Elkwood Manor.

Private arrangements will take place.

For those who so desire, memorial tributes may be made to CNIB Guide Dogs 1929 Bayview Avenue Toronto, ON M4G 3E8 or to STARS 1441 Aviation Park NE, Box 570 Calgary, Alberta T2E 8M7 in memory of Agatha.
