Bonnie Gerspacher (nee Rudey) passed away on May 5, 2023 at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin with her family by her side after a courageous and graceful battle with cancer.

Bonnie was born to John and Mary Rudey on August 13, 1973. Bonnie grew up on the family farm north of Russell, Manitoba.

In her childhood she enjoyed helping her dad with the farm chores, gardening with her mom, quadding, snowmobiling, camping, fishing, and visiting with family and friends.

In her teen years Bonnie spent time with friends and working at P&D’s restaurant.

In 2003 after moving home to Russell to care for her mother, Bonnie met the love of her life Jason Gerspacher. Bonnie and Jason were married on November 6, 2004.

On September 15, 2006 Bonnie and Jason welcomed Faith into their lives, and two years later Rylan arrived on September 30, 2008.

As a mother, Bonnie could be found at various sporting events cheering on Faith and Rylan. Some of her most memorable times were in the stands of a hockey rink.

Over the years Bonnie volunteered for several community groups to help support the activities her family enjoyed.

Bonnie will be remembered for her positivity and kindness. She would always greet you with a smile and genuinely ask how you were no matter how she felt, always worried about everyone else.

No matter how hard her battle was, she took it on with strength, dignity, and grace.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Jason, children Faith and Rylan; brother Tom (Paulette) Greaves and sons Grant and Spencer; parents-in-law Lloyd and Joan Gerspacher; brother-in-law Bryce (Mandy) Gerspacher; sister-in-law Lisa (James) Ross and daughter Eva; special family friends Edna, Brad, and Cathy Persson.

Bonnie is predeceased by her parents John and Mary Rudey; special family friend Ted Persson.

Donations can be made in Bonnie’s memory to the Moosomin & District Healthcare Foundation for the SEICC-CT Scanner or SEICC-Cancer Outreach Program, Allan Blair Cancer Centre, or Rocanville Recreation.
