It is with heavy hearts. we share the passing of our beloved Sandy.
Sandra was born on May 19th, 1943 at Moosomin Hospital. She was the eldest of three children, born to William and Marjorie Stephen (Ziebart). Sandra was raised on the family farm with her two brothers Murray and Brad. Sandra’s elementary years were spent at the Coverdale School. Following grade 8, Sandra attended the Moosomin Composite School, graduating in 1961.
After graduating Sandra worked at Wright’s Pharmacy. She married Dennis MacDonald from the Iona District on July 6, 1963. They resided on the MacDonald family farm where Sandra became a homemaker. Together they farmed and had two children, Wendy and Greg. Dennis passed away in 1985.
Sandra remained at the farm and started attending dances with her Mom and Ernie (Ziebart). Here she met her future husband, Lorne Gough from Spy Hill. They married September 23, 1988. Together they resided in Spy Hill where Lorne owned and operated Gough’s Service Centre. Lorne retired at the age of 75 and they decided to spend their years of retirement in Moosomin.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Marjorie Stephen (Ziebart); loving husband Dennis MacDonald; brothers and sisters-in-law Finlay MacDonald, Eleanor (John) Ciorton, Murdina (Herb) Jackson, Dan McQueen, George (Helen) Gough, Harlow (Doreen) Gough, Ben (Bev) Gough, Ron Gough, Robert Gough.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Lorne Gough; daughter Wendy (Robert) Bourgon; son Greg MacDonald; grandchildren: Sherri (Kurtis) Rogers, Aron Bourgon, Brittany Bourgon (Charles); great-grandchildren: Arthur and Anona Rogers; brothers: Murray (Louise) Stephen and Brad Stephen; sisters-in-law: Eva McQueen, Adela MacDonald, Shirley Gough; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sandra will be remembered for her kindness, empathy, radiant smile, and contagious laugh. Sandra was always just one phone call away, no matter the reason and her door was always open to family and friends. She had the warmest and most forgiving heart. Above all Sandy was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma who treasured her family more than anything. She will forever be remembered for her unconditional love.
The family of Sandra Gough would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kerkoff and staff of the Southeast Integrated Care Centre for the excellent care given to Sandra in Moosomin.
