Everyone Welcome
Erich Schildbach, late of Moosomin, SK, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the age of 66 years.
Erich spent his career working as a miner at the Mosaic Esterhazy Complex, one of the world’s largest potash mining operations. He valued hard work and the mining community that was such an integral part of his life.
Outside of work, Erich enjoyed classic old cars, rode motorcycles and skidoos. He enjoyed his meet ups at Tim Hortons for coffee with friends. Erich also enjoyed spending time on the golf course. He was pleased to combine his love of the game with part-time work at the local golf course.
Family was important to him, and he was thoughtful in staying connected, faithfully sending birthday cards and messages that meant so much to those who received them.
Erich was predeceased by his parents, Hans and Elizabeth Schildbach. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Ann Raedeke of Regina, SK, and Elizabeth Cockburn of Vancouver, B.C.; brother Franz Schildbach of Moosomin; as well as his niece Brittany Beal of Philadelphia, PA; nephew Brent Raedeke of Grand Rapids, MI; five great-nephews and one great-niece.
Interment will take place at a later date.
Erich was an organ donor, giving the gift of life to others. Friends wishing to make donations in memoriam may do so to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Moosomin Hospital or STARS Air Ambulance.
