With great sadness Alfred’s family announces his sudden passing. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary and brother Stanley (in infancy).
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Marj (McLean), daughter Evelyn (Craig) Cutts, her children Ceara Bogan (David Larsen), great-granddaughter Ella Bogan, Elysia (Jonathan) Eder, Brittanny Bogan and Jillian Bogan; daughter Barb (Cal) Reid, their children John [JD] (Nicole) Reid, great-grandchildren Evan and Karlie Reid, Charles [Chad] (Alyssa Zorn) Reid, Jacqueline (fiancé Colin Hinshelwood) Reid; daughter Jacqui (Garry) Beckett, Aimee Beckett (Colin Wood), Kari Beckett (Brennen Fisk), Breanne Beckett; son Ken (Irene) Skulmoski, daughter Kaitlyn, stepson Robin (Nicki) Monk, great-grandson Taylor Monk; son Ted Skulmoski (Michelle Liesch), his children Ashley and Ryan and their mother Colleen Skulmoski; his sister Judy (Al) Ostroman, their children Scott, Rick, Angela and their families. Also left to mourn are several aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends.
Alfred was born on a farm north of Fairlight, Sask. and went to a one-room country school before attending high school in Fairlight.
Alfred and Marj would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on October 2, 2014.
While he enjoyed owning his plumbing and heating business, what he most enjoyed was his family and friends, fishing and hunting, and telling stories over coffee.
A celebration of Alfy’s life was held in the Moosomin Armoury Hall on February 8, 2014. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
