It is with great sadness that the family of Ethel Joyce McAuley (nee Pointon) announces her passing on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the age of 86.
Predeceased are Ethel’s husband Matthew Lind McAuley, and daughter Karen McAuley.
She is survived by sons Donald (Sue) McAuley of Winnipeg; Howard (Alma) of Rocanville; and Chris of New Westminster; her grandchildren Matthew (Charlotte), Andrew (Kari), Mitchell, Junior (Laura), George, Ruggy, Edmond, Jason, Tresley (Derek), Courtney and Megan; as well as great-grandchildren Olivia, Gerald, Lukas, Sydney, Alyson, Lexi, Dawson, Zoe, Shylo, Jovie and Jaxon; and many nieces and nephews.
Ethel’s life was well lived and full of love. As a young woman Ethel obtained her teaching certificate. She continued her pursuit of this passion for teaching and working with children after she and Lind started their own family and moved back to McAuley to farm.
Ethel and Lind had a home where family was always welcome.
Ethel loved gardening, canning, reading, knitting, crocheting, dancing, volunteering and any time spent with her family. Family and friends will miss her dearly.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. CST at the Moosomin Baptist Church, 1117 Main Street on Monday, March 23, 2015. Interment will follow at the McAuley cemetery.
