James Paul Barschel MD. passed away peacefully in Moosomin, Sask. on November 30, 2016 at the age of 80 years.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Fritz and Muriel Barschel.
Paul is survived by: his wife Carole, Moosomin Sask.; sons, Laurie (Sue) St. Thomas Ont., Kerry (Alisa), Vancouver, B.C., and Timothy, Vancouver B.C.; daughter Jean Anne Overand (Keith) Virden, Man.; Grandsons, Joshua Overand (Kate) Moosomin. Sask., Evan Overand (Meghan) Elkhorn, Man., Great Grandsons, Hudson and Noah Overand, Moosomin, Sask.; Sister Jean Anne Manuel (William) and family, Bermuda.
Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was a dedicated family Physician. He was a passionate hunter, fisherman, curler and golfer. He spent much time pursuing these interests with his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held this summer at a date to be announced.
The family would like to thank the staff of Moosomin Hospital and Long Term Care Facility for the kind and compassionate care they provided to Paul and his family.
