Evelyn Doreen Szafron passed away peacefully on November 17, 2017 at Grasslands Health Centre, Rockglen, SK at the age of 85.
She was born November 28, 1931 on the family farm in the RM of Martin #122. Doreen and her husband George celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on November 8, 2017.
Doreen enjoyed gardening, quilting, crewel work and baking. She was very active on their mixed farming operation, where they raised three children.
Doreen was predeceased by her parents Evelyn and Bob Nixon; her sisters Grace (Don) Ulmer, Marlene (Tom) Tempko and Roberta Chopek.
Doreen is survived by her loving family: husband George; daughter Dianne (Donald) Beutler, daughter Donna Brill (Neil Penner) and son Bruce Szafron; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law David Chopek, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held in Moosomin, SK at a later date.
Donations in memory of Doreen may be made to the Rockglen Health Care Auxiliary Memorial Fund for the Grasslands Health Centre, PO Box 338, Rockglen, SK S0H 3R0.
