Guy passed away peacefully at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre at the age of 83, surrounded by his family.
He was born in a farmhouse at Ste. Marthe, the first of 12 children born to Leo and Julienne Fafard.
He started farming at the age of 18, married Marie Gagnon when he was 22 and together they had 4 boys and 3 girls: Marc, Jacynthe, Marcel, Louise, Conrad, Michelle and Charlie.
Guy is survived by his wife of 61 years, his seven children, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren three brothers and six sisters.
Guy and his wife had a mixed farm and also a dairy for 40 years. Three of his sons continue to farm.
He loved all sports, but especially his beloved Habs.
His family expresses gratitude to doctors Crouse and Kerkhoff and to the hospital and nursing staff for looking after him so well in his last two months.
