Laurence passed away suddenly May 4th at the Golf Course. He was doing something that gave him joy and he did not suffer.
He was born July 16, 1933 in Esterhazy, Sask. He moved to Port Alberni in 1954 and worked as an electrician at the Pulp Mill until his retirement in 1996.
Laurence was the consummate volunteer at the Rollin Art Centre, the Alberni Valley Curling Club and others unknown of.
He was a friend to all and a mentor to many. He was honest and honourable in every facet of his life and will be sorely missed.
He leaves to mourn his extended family in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and B.C. as well as countless friends. There will be no service at his request.
Donations in Laurence’s memory to the Rollin Art Centre Community Gardens would be greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Alberni Valley Curling Club at a later date.
