Dorothy Marshall passed away at the Westman Nursing Home on August 7, 2019, at the age of 101.
She was predeceased by our father, Murray Marshall, and her son Larry.
This is a woman who gave her all and did the best she knew how. Raising three children under age of six on her own is an accomplishment in itself. She was generous, kind and giving. She raised three children, Trudy, Larry (Pearl), and Carey (Shirley). Her children came first! Oh that good food and enjoying the outdoors. Camping in the back yard, berry picking, going to community events in the Hillsgreen district, taking care of her kids when all three came down with chicken pox, mumps and measles one year after another.
She came from an immigrant background: her mother form Northern Ireland, her father from Glasgow, Scotland. Her parents met in Canada at a place called Two Creeks where many are at rest in a heritage cemetery just down the road where she was born, grew up and was educated.
This is a woman who needs to be remembered as someone who sacrificed so much. Talented in so many ways, and ever so willing to help others even though her finances were sparse. Intelligent, giving, generous, thoughtful, creative, and amazing!! She lived to become a great-great grandmother and was ever so proud.
Mom, we salute you and your efforts. We want you to know we recognize a special contribution to our lives and to the lives of others. Rest in peace, dear mom!!! We love you!
