Barry was the son of David and Lyla Shaw and was raised in Rocanville, Saskatchewan.
He worked his way to Prince Rupert, British Columbia at a young age. This is where he met his wife of 58 years Verna Wright and married her soon after. Barry and Verna raised a family of six in Port Edward, British Columbia. They both taught their children the importance of a good work ethic, education and family values. We all loved Mom and Dad with a passion.
Barry left us March 30, 2021, he slipped away peacefully with the care and loving support of the staff in the East pod of Acropolis Manor. Barry was predeceased by his wife Verna and sons Albert and Patrick. He lived a full life.
He leaves behind his sister Sybil and bother Conrad (Sharon), daughter Yvonne (Gail), sons Barry (Maxine), Chatman and Karl (Wendy). Also many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and neices and nephews.
Barry will be missed by all who knew him for his kind, gentle, giving heart. He was a gentleman and a scholar. Following cremation, Barry will be put to rest with his wife Verna at a later date in Prince Rupert, British Columbia.
Rest in peace Dad. Love always.
Special thanks to Acropolis Manor staff and Dr. John Fawell for all they have done for Barry.
