
He was born on the family farm at Marchwell, Saskatchewan to Jacob and Louise Schmidt. After leaving the farm, Norman married Maxine (Kirby) in 1962 and shortly after had twin daughters and a son. His passions included family, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and spending time with his many friends.
Norman is survived by his wife Maxine, his children, Pam (Glenn) Kupschus, Trish (Darrell) Allard, Les (Jennifer) Schmidt, his grandchildren, Marla (Quint Hatzel) Kupschus, Carla (Jay) Russell, Brett (Shelly) Kupschus, Mike (Lindsay) Allard, Danielle (Joon) Kim, Ryley (Jessie Arsenault) Schmidt, 12 great-grandchildren, his brother Bob (Norma) Schmidt, sister Trudy Schappert as well as many nieces and nephews.
