Ted Frape was born to Clarence and Megan on July 24, 1945. His sister, Ann, was born a year and half later. He grew up on a farm and attended Fleming School until grade eight, and then came to Moosomin School.

He enjoyed hunting, and trapping, which later led to taxidermy work. He was still an active member of the Moosomin Gun Club. He worked at Turpie’s Family Farm and when Ted and Joan Marie got married in 1966, their first home was out at the Turpie’s.

Ted started driving truck, hauling farm fuel for Anglo, Royalite, and then the Gulf. Ted then followed his dream—by driving a semi on the highway for Yont and Sons in 1975. He came back and delivered farm fuel for the Co-op. Ted then bought his first semi and hit the highway. Two sons, Lloyd and Lorne, got their class 1’s and went trucking as well. When he “retired,” he worked for Roy Farms and last year, for Doug at Dixon Farms. That made 55 wonderful years of trucking. He was the first on the dance floor, outdanced everyone there, and the last one to leave any party.

He enjoyed riding his Harley in the summer and his Arctic Cat in the winter. The last two summers were spent out at the cabin at Moosomin Lake. He always enjoyed his four o’clock rum. Ted was a very colorful man, who didn’t always color inside the lines.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Marie, and his sons, Lloyd, Lorne, Kevin, and their families.
