Indian Head RCMP investigating fatal collision

On February 6, 2023 at approximately 7:45 p.m., Indian Head RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway #1, approximately five kilometres west of Indian Head.
Initial investigation determined a westbound semi rolled onto the centre median of the highway. An eastbound semi then collided with it.
The adult female driver and sole occupant of the westbound semi was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 50-year-old female from Ontario.
The driver of the eastbound semi was transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Highway #1 will be reduced to one lane in the area of the collision as debris clean-up continues. It’s estimated all lanes will re-open later today.
Indian Head RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
