With deep sorrow, the family of Wayne Beattie announce his passing on October 1, 2024 at the age of 69.

He was born October 9, 1954 to the late George Gordon Beattie and the late Jessie Eliza Beattie (Vennard) in the Moosomin Union Hospital at Moosomin, Saskatchewan.

Wayne is predeceased by his sisters Norma (late Cecil Westcott), Whitewood, Saskatchewan, and June (Digby Williams), Ottawa, Ontario.

Wayne will be fondly remembered by his sister Doreen (Andre-Jean Charron) of Orleans, Ontario; his nieces Linda (Allan Blyth) of Whitewood, Saskatchewan; Karen Williams (Ken Boden) and Lauri Williams of Ottawa, Ontario.

Great-uncle to Derek Blyth (Kari); Tricia Blyth (deceased); Craig Blyth; James Blyth (Darci) and Athan Stone. Great-great uncle to Hudson and Alix Blyth, Jeremy Blyth (Emily MacKenzie), Gage Taylor, Amaya, Sophie and Zane Blyth, Kullea, Aliah and Skye Blyth and great-great-great uncle to Hannah Blyth.

Wayne was raised on the farm in the Hillburn district between Rocanville and Moosomin until the farm was sold in 1973 and the family moved to Moosomin.
Wayne’s professions were varied as he worked as a mechanic, welder, farm worker and a trucker.

He had real talent when it came to drawing and painting and it’s too bad he didn’t pursue that more.

His greatest passion was working and creating with wood which he would do for hours at a time creating bird houses, bird feeders, signs, 3-D scroll saw scenes, etched wooden coasters, marquetry and small furniture to name just a few.

Wayne also loved being outside in nature and would often drive out to the country or valley and simply sit or stroll and enjoy the wildlife or whatever was happening around him.

Wayne will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. A person never knew what he was going to do or say at any given time and he certainly kept us entertained through the years. Rest in Peace, Wayne.
