With heavy hearts, we, the children of Florence Margaret (Elmslie) Rothwell, announce her passing on October 24, 2024, at the age of 93. Born April 29, 1931, Mom was a vibrant spirit who lived life to the fullest.
Mom and Dad (Harold) were married on November 2, 1950, and would have celebrated 74 wonderful years together.
She cherished her yard at the farm near Fairlight, finding joy in nature and eagerly anticipating the arrival of the hummingbirds each spring, as well as nurturing the birds and squirrels that visited.
Florence is survived by her beloved soulmate Harold, her children Linda (Kevin) and Warren (Tracey), and seven grandchildren: Shawn, Kathy (Chris), Chris (Beth), Tyler (Megean), Jared (Samanatha), Kimberly (Colton), and Meagan (Justin).
She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren: Andi, Cooper, Elijah, Asher, Logan, Bodhi, and Braylon.
Additionally, she is survived by her youngest brother Norman (Norma) Elmslie, numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where we will gather to share memories and honor the remarkable woman she was.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Moosomin Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, Diabetes or the Cancer Society.
Thank you for your love and support during this difficult time—your kindness means the world to us.
