Sealcoating to take place on Highway 8 south of Moosomin

At their meeting on Wednesday, Moosomin Town Council received a project information sheet from the Ministry of Highways informing them of 116.22 kilometers of sealcoating that will be done on Highway 8 south Moosomin and near Glenavon.
Highway 8 south of Moosomin will receive 29.81 kilometers of seal coat this year from 1.81 kilometers south of Highway 1 to its junction with Highway 48. The work is planned for June 24 to July 31.
Highway 48 from .02 kilometers west of its junction with Highway 47 to one kilometer east of its junction with Highway 606 for a total length of 30.08 kilometers will also have seal coat applied from August 4-28.
The total estimated cost of the projects is $6.6 million and the work will be done by Neetah Construction LP.
Drivers can expect traffic stoppages, one-way traffic, and reduced speeds during the application of the seal coat.
